Police are asking for help to find a 43-year-old woman who has been missing since Wednesday. Rosa A. Powell of Trice Terrace in Norfolk was last seen around 9 a.m.

She went missing for 10 days before her body was found this past Saturday, and now, police have made an arrest in the death of Norfolk mom Rosa Powell. Police charged 42-year-old Cortez Scott with 2nd Degree Murder Tuesday.

Rosa Powell was reported missing and then found dead on the side of a road. The man accused of killing her faced a judge Tuesday.

The preliminary hearing focused on how the mother of three lost her life. In a statement to police, suspect Cortez Scott said he and Powell were in a romantic relationship when a heated argument led to her death...

However, police say they have not found the murder weapon. The case was sent to a circuit court grand jury for its consideration.

Cortez Scott pleaded guilty in February to second-degree murder. He was sentenced Thursday in Circuit Court to a total of 40 years, with 20 suspended...

Scott admitted that he and Powell were walking together when they got into an argument. Scott said he struck her and pulled out a wrench - he told police he carried wrenches in his jacket - and hit her several times in the head. He said he stomped on her stomach and chest while she was on the ground.

Scott said he threw the wrench in the pond, took off his shoes and put them in a trash can as he walked home.
