In something reminiscent of 'The Great Escape' movie, thieves in Salford, Manchester, have spent months digging and fortifying a 50 ft tunnel. They used it to break into a superstore and steal 'tens of thousands' from a cash machine.
I just heard on the radio the amount is £80,000 (about $132,000).
The tunnel looks pretty professional to me. I suppose if they spent four months digging, it works out at £20,000 grand per month of work they have 'earned'. When they are caught, they are going to find out they've also earned a few years in prison for each month of digging too....
