FOR 25 years, Barbie McCarthy has wondered if anyone would ever be held accountable for the stabbing murder of her sister. This week gave her hope.
As she read news of the breakthrough in the double murder of mother and daughter Karlie Jade-Stevenson and Khandalyce Pearce, Mrs McCarthy was reminded that even the smallest tip can help unravel a mystery.
A call to Crimestoppers helped uncover the two victims identities, giving investigators their best chance at solving a horrific double murder.
This month is the 25th anniversary of another shocking double killing: Mrs McCarthys sister Fiona Burns and her friend John Lee, who were stabbed to death as they hitchhiked across the South Australia-Victoria border.
