Police have released a second FACE image following a report on an attempted abduction in Wodonga on Monday.

The image was compiled after investigators spoke to a witness who saw a man loitering in the area around the time.

Yesterday afternoon a FACE image was released that was compiled after police spoke with the victim.

That FACE image shows a man wearing sunglasses.

Detectives have been told the victim went to the aid of a man who appeared to have stumbled on Lawrence Street, opposite Kelly Park, about 3.40pm on 31 March.

The man asked the teenager for help to his car and when she obliged was forced into the vehicle and physically assaulted.

The 15-year-old victim was able to escape the car and run home to raise the alarm.

It is believed the offender pulled out into Lawrence Street and then pulled straight back into a parking spot and sat in his car for several minutes before driving away, north, on Melrose Drive.

The teen was conveyed to Wodonga Hospital for treatment to her injuries and is in a stable condition.

The offender is described as aged in his 50-60s, balding with grey hair on the sides and with a large belly.

He is believed to have been driving a late model black sedan with tinted windows.

Anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed the incident, which may have looked like a domestic argument on the side of the road, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or log onto www.crimestoppers.com.au

There were a couple of attempted abductions last year too and they're of course wondering if they're linked. They've spoken with car dealers among many others and have a few leads as to possible POI's.

Here's hoping they find him quick!

This one's getting closer to my neck of the woods...

Thanks Humdinger!...

Sexual Crime Squad detectives are currently in Wodonga investigating the sexual assault of a 55-year-old woman on 25 March.

Investigations into the attempted abduction and assault of a 16-year-old girl in Lawrence Street on the 31 March have led detectives to believe the same man may be responsible for both attacks.

Police have been told a woman was gardening in the front yard of a house on Lawrence Street when she was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her about 6.30pm.

The man was seen to walk away from the scene west along Lawrence Street towards Melrose Drive.

Police believe a number of cars slowed as they drove past the scene at the time of the assault and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault, which may have looked like a domestic dispute, to come forward.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, with a medium build, aged 55-60 years with grey hair and a pot belly.

He was last seen wearing blue, faded, stonewash jeans and a black t-shirt.

Detectives have released another FACE image this afternoon of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries

Anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or log onto www.crimestoppers.com.au

http://www.mako.org.au/images/Terrence_McMahon_sketch.jpg ????

http://www.mako.org.au/temp_m.html site won't let me cut and paste so you'll have to scroll down to McMahon

I thought the sketch looked similar to the right hand side identikit and the left hand side identikit looks alot like his photo with glasses on and more angular face, similar jawline and nose.

I wish Mako.org.au had a searcheable picture gallery. We know sex perps normally have an extensive criminal history.

Just saw on local news that there has been an arrest, but I can't find a link online... I'll keep looking!
