Fresno sheriff's detectives still seeking help ID'ing remains
The Fresno BeeApril 7, 2014 Updated 6 hours ago

Fresno County sheriff's detectives are still seeking the public's help in identifying human remains discovered late last month southeast of Easton.
The remains, which were found March 26 near a ponding basin near the intersection of Orange and Adams avenues, are estimated to be anywhere from three months to one year old.
Detectives believe the victim is a Hispanic male, 25-40 years of age, 5-foot-6 to 5-7 with a thin build. Clothing found at the scene included a dark-colored belt with a silver belt buckle that has an old English letter "D" on it.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Donna Davis at (559) 360-9187, the Sheriff's Office at 600-3111, or CrimeStoppers at 498-7867.

bumping this old thread. i grew up in that area. unfortunately that belt isnt a strong lead, they are available everywhere and commonly worn.

There's a large Hispanic population in that area, and still a lot of migrant workers, so that doesn't really help to narrow it down. And Cvaldez is right, you can pick those belts up at any flea market in the San Joaquin valley.

yep, UP10975 (FONTANA) was wearing a blue one w a dodgers buckle. the web belt is basically a length of fabric w interchanging buckles. gangsters wear red and blue ones. regular ppl wear black, tan, patterned ones. skate shops/brands have taken to making them too but the plain ones you get anywhere.

The case is now on Namus: https://identifyus.org/en/cases/15814

They have narrowed the age to 20-23 and his height is now given as 5'2. He was found in a shallow grave in an orchard. It says he was wearing underwear and a tanktop, there's no mention of the belt so it probably didn't belong to him?

No rule-outs.
