Authorities continue search for missing man -

The conclusion of the hunt on Friday for Dustin Carver's possible remains in Twin Oaks was bittersweet for the family of the 20-year-old. A missing persons report filed with the Kansas Police Department on March 21, claims Carver has not been seen in the Kansas area since March 3. Carver's girlfriend, Krista Glass, reported Carver left her home at 10:30 p.m. on March 3 and got in a pickup with two men. She could not recognize the men or the truck in the dark. She hasn't heard from him since.

Another article about the LE search on Friday 4/18/14 behind a mobile home (nothing was found):

Delaware County Sheriff Harlan Moore said a drug and stolen property investigation led them to the location and the possibility of finding a body.

"One of those interviews disclosed the fact that the person involved may have killed somebody and buried them in the backyard here," Moore said.

The guy who owns that property where they were digging is apparently the last one to see Dustin alive. This is per the family via the Searching for Dusty page, not LE. I don't think I've seen where LE has said that. But LE did arrest him last Friday at a nearby gas station. A video was posted of the arrest on the FB page.

ETA: LE has stated that the owner IS a POI in Dustin's disappearance.

While no remains were found, the owner of the trailer is still considered a person of interest in the case, but hasn't been arrested.

It's strange how NamUs lists things. He's from Grove, disappeared in Twin Oaks, both in Delaware County, yet Kansas OK PD is handling the investigation. I can only guess that's why they've listed him by his county versus his town. It's a rural thing most likely.

Grove and Twin Oaks might not have their own police department. I know where I live we don't have one and our fire department is volunteer. Our township is lumped into the next town over which is incorporated, and also the county seat. Although our mail goes thru that town and we're lumped in with them, and even use their town for our mailing address, their police department doesn't handle our calls because we're not in their town. If we need the police we have to call the sheriff. Never see a township patrol car making rounds here either. Only the sheriff or the staties that are stationed down the road a ways.

Found two Facebook pages for Dusty:

https://www.facebook.com/dusty.carver.35

https://www.facebook.com/dusty.ray.796

Both pages say he went to Kansas High School. One says he lives in Kansas and the other says he lives in Tulsa. The Kansas/Twin Oaks area is 35 miles south of Grove, just north of the Cherokee/Adair county lines. Foothills of the Ozarks, very rural, wooded, hilly in that area.

The news report said the dogs hit on the suspicious mound of dirt at the trailer. It could be that Dusty had been buried there briefly, but maybe someone had second thoughts, dug him up, and moved the body elsewhere.

For anyone not local, Oklahoma's court records are super easy to check; I wish all states' were. Just go here and type in last name, first name and hit Enter:

That's what I think happened. I looked at the area around where the POI lives. Small wooded areas behind his house to the west but probably not as dense as it looks on satellite. But there is a pond back there. Also looks like dumpsters to the west of the POI's house. There were early reports that they had an altercation earlier that day or the day before. I'm pretty convinced that Dustin is deceased. Hopefully LE can find him so he can have a proper burial.

Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and officials with the Medical Examiners office are again at the scene in Twin Oaks excavating for possible human remains Tuesday morning, May 20. The move comes after an alleged witness came forth offering new information to the OSBI.

According to authorities, two search warrants are being executed at this time for a search, not only of the previous four acres that was the focus of a search on April 18, but on an adjoining four acres adjacent to the property where the first search originated...

Today's search is prompted on information regarding burn piles around the eight-acre search area, and information from an alleged witness.

State authorities discovered some “items of interest” when digging at a residence in southern Delaware County, said Jessica Brown, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman on Wednesday.

Brown declined to identify the items discovered Tuesday but did say they were recovered from the same general area where teams with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, the OSBI and the state Medical Examiner’s Office searched in April.

Officials from the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are continuing their investigation into 'items of interest' found during the May search at a residence in Twin Oaks...

At the time of the search, Jessica Brown, spokesperson for the OSBI, said agents uncovered several "items of interest" during the search of the southern Delaware County property.

Brown has not provided additional details about the items found, stating that the items were being tested and examined.

Law enforcement personnel, including members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, searched the scene in Twin Oaks looking for possible human remains. The site was also subject to an earlier search on April 16.

The property is the home of James Larson, 30, of Kansas. Larson is listed as a person of interest in the disappearance of Carver by Delaware County Sheriff Harlan Moore. Larson has not been charged in the disappearance of Carver. He is being held in the Delaware County Jail on unrelated charges.

An investigation into Carver's past reveals that there is an arrest warrant sworn out against him on a misdemeanor charge in Delaware County, however Mullen said officials are not concerned about those charges. “We're just concerned about his safety. We need to hear that he's alright,” Mullen said.

According to Dusty's FB group page, James Larson, the POI, is still being held on unrelated charges. DNA testing on the "items of interest" found where the cadaver dogs hit is complete. DNA samples were recently taken from Dusty's family for comparison.
Couldn't find any MSM updates to confirm any of this.
