According to his NamUs, he was possibly threatened his life at the day of his disappearance.
Dentals and DNA are not available in his case, only fingerprints.

Series: Missing Fort Smith Man Last Seen At Bar In 2001
McCormick, 26, was reported missing by his mother, Evelyn Meisenheimer, on July 20, 2001. He was last seen July 14, 2001, walking away from Perry's Place, 3028 N. Sixth St. He has not been heard from since.
Detective Steve Mahan was working in the Fort Smith Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division when McCormick went missing, but wasn't assigned the case until years later. Since Mahan took on the case, no new information has come to light, Mahan said.
Police interviewed several people at the bar and anyone else they could find who knew McCormick, but nothing pointed investigators in any certain direction.
Although foul play is suspected, without a body it's hard to determine who, if anyone, played a part in McCormick's disappearance, Mahan said.
