FLUVANNA AUTHORITIES SEEKING MISSING COUNTY WOMAN

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of a 49-year-old Fluvanna woman who failed to return home on Wednesday (July 2).Field Janet Renee Field of Hickory Hill Road in Scottsville was reported missing by her husband, Lewis, on July 3. He last saw her last at their home. Lt. David R. Wells described Field's disappearance as "atypical" and said that it did not appear that she had packed any bags or taken items from her home with her in anticipation of a lengthy stay away.

I found this interesting....
Field’s car, a 2010 burgundy Subaru Forrester, was found at the Zion Crossroads park and ride lot in Louisa County today (July 4). Investigators conducted a search of her vehicle after having obtained a search warrant.

Why would they need a search warrant to search the car? Couldn't the husband just say yes to searching it? Unless there's something to hide of course, but am I wrong about this?

Maybe they couldn't find the husband to ask him?

How much you want to bet the place they found her car is within jogging distance of their home?

Sometimes LE gets a search warrant so the evidence can clearly be used in court. They have time here - this isn't one of those cases where time seems extremely critical. Keeps the evidence from being thrown out of court on a technicality if the husband were to say he didn't give permission.

A tiny bit more information, and a completely inaccurate description of her (or the picture is not of her):

CBS19 had the same photo and description: http://www.newsplex.com/home/headli...ating-Disappearance-of-Scottsville-Woman.html

Either she changed her hair color or her hair is a very dark shade of blonde that appears brown in certain lights. The photo also makes it look more heavyset than her weight would suggest. I wish there were more photos.

Her eyes are very dark, also, nearly black. I don't see how those eyes in the photo could possibly be blue. I've seen descriptions before also that account for a picture difference - "she is currently wearing her hair bleached blonde". I agree with what you've said - she looks much heavier than the description states.

Do the police normally say they don't suspect foul play early on in missing persons cases or maybe they know more than they're sharing?

Did they say that? Maybe they know something about her state of mind? Usually they say there are no signs of foul play...not that they don't suspect any, jmo.
