FARMINGTON, Minn. - Farmington police are searching for a 37-year-old woman who has been missing for more than a month.

Laura Jean Simonson, 37, was reported missing Nov. 22, Detective Sgt. Lee Hollatz said. Simonson was last seen by family members Nov. 1.

Hollatz said Simonson has residences in Farmington and St. Paul, so relatives here were not initially concerned when they had not seen her for several days. Simonson reportedly parked her van at her mother’s Farmington home Nov. 2 but has not been seen since.

Family members told Hollatz that Simonson has had family issues in her recent history. Hollatz also has information that her disappearance may have been planned. But relatives say it is unusual that Simonson would go so long without contacting them, he said.

Simonson is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and about 105 pounds. She has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes.

“We don’t believe any foul play is involved, but with these types of incidences, we take these very seriously because we are concerned about the well-being of Laura,” Hollatz said.

Information can be directed to Hollatz at (651) 280-6700.

Newly-released: Stripper claims she was assaulted by Zelich when he was a police officer
Posted 4:10 pm, July 2, 2014, by A.J. Bayatpour, Updated at 10:01pm, July 2, 2014

Nearly 13 years earlier, in the spring of 2001, a woman told West Allis police that Zelich, an officer at the time, had assaulted her. The woman said she was a stripper, and had agreed to go home with Zelich for a “private show.”

When they went into Zelich’s bedroom, the woman says Zelich “dropped something into his pants pocket” that “sounded like handcuffs.” When she tried to leave, the woman says Zelich “grabbed her and threw her to the ground.”

Zelich was never charged in the incident. Three months later, he resigned from the West Allis Police Department.

The Farmington Police Department is searching for Laura Jean Simonson, a potential vulnerable adult who has been missing from Farmington since Nov. 1, 2013.
I'm curious as to why she's considered 'vulnerable.'

Simonson has residences in Farmington and St. Paul, so relatives were not initially concerned when they had not seen her for several days.
So she apparently goes several days without being in touch with her family?

Posting websites that have more info on it. It appears she was homeless and living in her car, had lost her children as well. There are hints that she met a man via BDSM website and went to be a "live in submissive".

Her daughter's obit:

A blurb about her here,

I had actually read on a website that she was taken from her home and is a victim of sex trafficking. Since it's hearsay I can't link it publicly or state it as fact, but the circumstances are in the same vein.

OT: It's good to see you back. :)

I can see the similarities in the sketch and picture. At least in terms of facial features. This is such a shame.

Is this Laura with a black eye?

Is this Steven Zelich?

Hey Los, could you send me this photo of Laura so I can zoom in well?

A second victim has been identified. I don't believe the name has been released yet:

http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/...-suitcase-killings-b99299542z1-264736411.html

Officials identified the second victim Thursday morning and there is no reason to believe this victim was from Rochester, Minn. or that she was killed in Minnesota, according to Town of Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin.

The second victim, Sherwin said, was likely killed in Wisconsin. Sherwin deferred all further questions related to the second victim to Walworth County or Town of Geneva officials.
