Investigators worked through the night processing a crime scene in south Arlington. Police have been at the home in the 2200 block of Polo Club Court since 1 p.m. Sunday when someone there reported a missing child. But, no Amber Alert was issued and police have not released information about whether or not they found the child. They are also not revealing what type of investigation is now underway.

A man who lives in the south Arlington home where a child was reported missing is now charged with murder. Police have only released a few details about the case. Officers took pictures of a car in the driveway. The owner of that vehicle, Joshua Beard, was arrested Saturday on outstanding warrants. On Monday, a murder charge was added below his name on the jail website.

Police have arrested a man for allegedly killing a 19-month-old toddler.

Joshua Beard, 20, faces a capital murder charge. Police said they believe he punched his girlfriend’s daughter and stomped on her until she died. He then buried the little girl’s body in Springtown, according to the police report.

A man has been arrested for the murder of an Arlington toddler. Joshua Beard has been charged with capital murder in connection with the death of an 19-month-old girl who was reported missing from her home in Arlington. Originally, the child's mother called police to report her daughter missing from their home in the 2200 block of Polo Club Court Sunday afternoon. As officers continued to investigate, they suspected foul play.

According to police documents, Beard allegedly beat Tylea Moore "by hitting her with his closed fists, open hands and stomping on her with his feet" at a residence in the 2200 block of Polo Club Court. The child's mother, 17-year-old Alexis Botello, reported Tylea was missing on Sunday, but investigators quickly surmised that her story was not adding up.

Botello admitted she was present when Tylea was being beaten, according to statements in a search warrant. She told police that Beard also hit her...

Beard and Botello put Tylea's body in the trunk of her car; they then drove away, stopping at a Wal-Mart in Weatherford to buy gloves and two shovels, she told police.

On Sunday, Beard’s aunt called police to report a missing child. She had gone to an Arlington hotel in the 1900 block of West Pleasant Ridge Road near Interstate 20 to check on Beard’s girlfriend, Alexis Botello. Beard, who was booked into the Arlington jail on Saturday, said he had been unable to reach Botello.

When police arrived for the missing child call, Botello, 17, said she hadn’t seen her child for two days. From the onset, police believed that the child was not missing and suspected foul play, said Arlington police Sgt. Jeff Houston. Botello changed her story a couple of times before saying “he didn’t mean to do it,” and clarified that Beard told her not to say a word about harming her child, according to police documents.

ARLINGTON — Arlington police on Monday arrested a 20-year-old man in the death of his girlfriend’s 19-month-old daughter.

Joshua Markus Beard faces a capital murder charge in the death of Tylea Moore. She was fatally beaten and stomped on Friday, court records indicate.

Beard was already in the Arlington Jail when he was arrested in the child’s death. He had been arrested Saturday on unrelated charges.

The arrest came after remains were found near Springtown in Parker County early Monday, Lt. Christopher Cook, an Arlington police spokesman, said.

“We don’t know if it’s a child or not,” Cook said. “We do believe we have enough evidence to charge Mr. Beard, who is in our jail.”

What do they mean they don't know if it's a child or not? She was only reported missing on the 6th.
