Three Wind River Reservation residents have been charged with First Degree Murder and Aiding and Abetting the murder of Jared Little Whiteman, according to an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court on Monday. The charges were lodged against Susan Chippewa, Byron Spoonhunter, and James Whiteplume.

An affidavit supporting the charges indicated Little Whiteman was stabbed to death and his throat slashed in a trailer on the reservation in an apparent dispute over the location of drugs and money. He was bound with electrical cords around his hands and feet, placed on a mattress and then killed, the affidavit alleged...

Chippewa allegedly pointed out the burial spot for investigators, who secured the scene and later recovered the body with an FBI Evidence Collection Team. An autopsy revealed that the body had more than 40 stab wounds and “there was an incision in the throat.”

I hope they make those that murdered him pay for it. Rest in Peace Jared.

Three residents of the Wind River Indian Reservation who are accused of stabbing and killing a man in June pleaded not guilty Monday in U.S. District Court in Cheyenne.

The FBI charged James Whiteplume, Susan Chippewa and Byron Spoonhunter with first-degree murder and aiding and abetting on Sept. 29. They are accused of killing Jared Little Whiteman on June 2.

Whiteplume held Little Whiteman down while Chippewa and Spoonhunter stabbed him, according to an affidavit filed in the U.S. District Court for Wyoming.

This story is similar to and from around the time of the link OkieGranny posted earlier in the thread (post #7) but has a couple additional tidbits.

They apparently told him to "think about it." I take that to mean the money/drugs they wanted. Wouldn't that kinda/sorta be a form of torture?

Also, (Byron) Spoonhunter was known as "Bambi"(!?!). I thought that would be more likely to be the stage-name of a female stripper. Not a guy that would kill somebody for drugs.

Man's body found with 40 wounds; trio charged with murder (The Ranger, Riverton, WY)

...Little Whiteman was interrogated about the location of money and drugs.

Next, Little Whiteman was brought to a box spring mattress in a back room, where he was told to "lie there and think about it," according to investigators.

In another room, reportedly, Chippewa and Whiteplume determined that Little Whiteman would not be allowed to leave the trailer.

Investigators later interviewed Chippewa in her home. Reportedly she told them that she had become angry and cut Little Whiteman's throat with a knife.
"Chippewa further stated that after she slit his throat, 'he' was dead," the affidavit states.

She indicated that "Bambi," or Spoonhunter, was involved in the incident as well.
"Chippewa stated 'Bambi' also stabbed (Little Whiteman) using the same knife," the affidavit states. "Chippewa confirmed that 'Bambi' helped her move the body, and the body was wrapped in something resembling a carpet."

The U.S. Attorney’s Office filed charges on Tuesday against three people who allegedly helped three defendants charged with killing a man on the Wind River Indian Reservation last year. Garrett Revere Jr., Chrissy Bigeagle and Will Wallowingbull were charged with being accessories after the fact in the killing of Jared Dean Little Whiteman...

Law enforcement had not been able to locate the white Kia SUV allegedly used to carry Little Whiteman’s body to the burial site. Last month, the SUV was found near Denver. The investigation of the van could take up to eight weeks, according to prosecutors.

The three lead defendants were scheduled to go on trial in federal court in Casper this week, but U.S. District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl reset the trial date to April 27.

The Ethete woman who allegedly killed a man on the Wind River Indian Reservation last June is scheduled to change her not guilty plea in federal court next week, according to court records.

Susan Chippewa previously pleaded not guilty to aiding and abetting first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Jared Dean Little Whiteman.

Friday, Chippewa heard new charges against her that were filed in a second superseding indictment last week. U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Michael Shickich told her during her initial appearance that she still faces the original charge of aiding and abetting first degree murder. She now faces one count of felony first-degree murder, meaning the murder was committed during another crime, which was kidnapping, Shickich said. If convicted on both counts, she faces punishments of life imprisonment.
