Thanks for posting this Richrd, what a very sad story, compounded by the intended prosecution of this poor soul, isn't he suffering enough? I'd think this is "an extremely rare case" imo because few prosecutors would lodge charges in such circumstances. What a travesty.

How can a person be charged with 'aiding suicide' and 'criminal homicide'? I can't believe they're going ahead with a trial, I hope the jury answers loud and clear what they think of these charges after they've heard everything. This man deserves compassion, not punishment, imo.

Thanks Richrd, very glad to see those two charges dropped (for a 'complete lack of malice' [thank you Judge Cepparulo!]), sorry to see such a high bail being set but at least the judge is displaying some common sense in this sad tale.
