The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying an unknown deceased man.

The man was last seen alive on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at approximately 6:55 a.m., at Lansdowne subway station, at 691 Lansdowne Avenue.

He is described as white, 45-60, longer black hair with a full, greying beard. He was wearing black sandals, dark-blue jeans, black long-sleeve shirt, a red vest with white polka dots covering it, metal-rimmed sunglasses, a beige fedora hat and carrying a black portfolio bag. He had several distinctive tattoos, displayed on the released photographs."

Anger, Truth and Picasso's Don Quixote.

He seems like he would have been a pretty interesting man.

Don Quixote

Wow ya - you don't see that much. Man of La Mancha!

Those other ones have great color so they may not be very old.

Man is still unidentified, clear large pics of his tattoos in link..

"The man, who had no identification with him, had longer black hair and a full, greying beard. He was wearing a black, long-sleeved shirt, a red vest with white polka dots, dark blue jeans, black sandals and a beige fedora. He wore metal-rimmed sunglasses and was carrying a black portfolio bag.

One tattoo spelled out the word "Anger" and another one spelled out "Truth."

Anyone with information should call police at 416-808-1100"

Thanks dotr,
Call back this am...still not identified. I haven't the time for an active research, but will keep him in mind while searching other mps.
best of luck! And again thanks to dotr for getting this out to public.

Recently, there have been a number of out-of-towners visiting for Caribana and the Jazz Festival in Toronto, perhaps this UID man was one of them,
he does not look unlike a jazz musician imo.

Wonder if this man has been located? link includes pic.

“It is not out of character for Arnoldo REY to travel for extended periods of time but he usually keeps in contact with his family during his travels,” an RCMP news release says.

As might be expected, Rey speaks fluent Spanish and has a heavy Spanish accent.

“That makes it difficult to understand him at times,” RCMP say.

Rey has brown eyes, is 5’9” tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds."

He seems like he would have been a pretty interesting man.

Looking for the image of the Don Quixote image and found this poem, which is rather poignant given the situation.. imo

"Do all old warriors grow to be out of their league,

And battle with memories of battle fatigue?

As he contemplates his gallantry to only be folly.

His thoughts now lead to a great Melancholy".

I did a little sleuthing and found a city council candidate's post about him. I've passed through Lansdowne Station many times since this happened and it's so sad. Looks like he's wearing the same hat in the photo as the one he was wearing in the surveillance video. He's referred to by his nickname "Swytek." I've found his real name but I'm not sure if it's appropriate to post considering the lack of coverage by mainstream media. RIP.
