UK - Scottish girl Jane Bell, 3, drowned in hotel pool, Lancashire, 14 Aug 2014

A 40-year-old woman, from Galashiels, is being held on suspicion of murder and child neglect after a three-year-old girl drowned in a hotel pool in the seaside resort of St Anne's, Blackpool.

The child, who was believed to have been staying at the hotel with her parents, got into difficulty in the water around 11am on Thursday and was rushed to hospital, where she died that night.

No names have been released yet.

The mom should have come to the USA. She could have just left her in a hot car to die, claim she forgot her and no charges would be filed.

This is so sad, why on earth was the little left alone in the pool? Where was her mum?
Shocking, it says that the pool didn't even have a children's shallow section!
How can anyone think it's ok to leave a toddler alone in deep water x

Sarah Bell was arrested on suspicion of murder and child neglect after her daughter, Jane, died at the Dalmeny Hotel in St Annes, Lancs

Using her maiden name of McKinnon, Mrs Bell had messaged a local radio station on Saturday, writing: Been up town, now packing our holiday stuff. Away to Lytham Saint Annes tomorrow with husband and two kids.

Mrs Bell, a cleaner in an Asda supermarket, and husband David, 40, a council gardener, have an older daughter, Emma, five.

But the former supermarket cleaner was released on bail the following day and returned to the family home on Tweed Road with her husband, David, and their other daughter.
