'A Malaysian fishmonger on Tuesday was charged with murder over the fatal stabbing of two British medical students, a crime that carries the death penalty, local media and police said.'

'The bodies of Newcastle University students Neil Dalton and Aidan Brunger, both 22, were found early August 6 lying in the road in Kuching, capital of Sarawak state on Borneo island.'

Death by hanging will be mandatory if the suspect, Zulkipli Abdullah, 23, is found guilty.

'The funeral of a medical student who was stabbed to death in Borneo will be held in a Derbyshire church later.'

'Neil Dalton, 22, from Ambergate, Derbyshire, was killed with his friend Aidan Brunger, from Kent, in Kuching in the last few days of a medical placement.'

Coroners have opened but adjourned inquests into the death of both the students.
