The Arkansas childhood home of Johnny Cash has opened to the public, after being rescued from the point of ruin in 2009.

"If Dad walked into the house today, he would have been overcome," said Rosanne Cash, Johnny's eldest daughter, at the dedication ceremony for the five-room home that has been newly furnished with retrieved family items and donations.

'The star's siblings Tommy and Joanne have overseen the refurbishment.

"We've got everything just as it was," Joanne Cash, now 76, told the New York Times. "It took a lot of hard work. It's been very emotional for me."

The most meaningful item, she said, was the piano. "We used to gather around that piano at night and sing gospel for an hour. That was our entertainment." '

Very Nice. I am glad they saved the house. Johnny was a Naitonal Treasure and deserves no less. I'm sure he and June are smiling in heaven.

I absolutely love and adore Johnny Cash. I think of his song "Man In Black" when I think of him. What a powerful song. He had a good heart and of course a wonderful singer/ entertainer. Nobody like him in my book.
