"Ottawa police have released images of a person of interest that could be linked to the break-in at the home of Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau.

In a release, police said the person is sought in connection with a “recent nighttime prowling incident” in the Rockliffe area, where Trudeau lives with his family.

The Liberal leader’s wife and children were sleeping during last weekend’s incident at their family home."

If he was talking on a cell phone ( as it appears) it seems like they should be able to find him by tracking cell phone use to that time and place.

He acts drunk the way he is weaving around, unless the video is making his movements look choppy.

Trudeau should have given him a Shawinigan Handshake! :thud:

Lol! "Shawinigan Handshake!"

OR, introduce him to Inuit soapstone...

"The Chretiens were not completely unprotected. The prime minister, awakened after his wife encountered the intruder, grabbed a small soapstone statue of a loon to use as a weapon."

Heh! Oh my gosh, I can just imagine all the jokes that will come from this. :giggle:

Kidding aside, that was a terrifying incident considering that T's wife and young children were asleep in the home at the time.
Surprising that the perp appears to be wearing white, or carrying something white, as opposed to wearing dark colours.
Could it be a house painter's outfit/ disguise?

No one was injured and nothing was stolen.

However, a threatening note was reportedly left on top of several knives."

"Anyone with information about the identity of the person of interest is asked to contact Ottawa police at (613) 236-1222 (ext. 4533), Crime Stoppers anonymously at (613) 233-8477(TIPS) or toll-free at 1-800-222-8477."

Random speculation ..

There had been break-ins in the area in April, the poi in that incident is pictured within link below.
Coincidentally, perp is wearing white, or very light coloured pants, somewhat unusual in Canada imo, considering it was only April and a cool one at that.
Could poi be foreign?

"OTTAWA – Police are looking for a man in connection to a home robbery in the Rideau-Rockcliffe area.

According to police, the break-in happened on April 29 in the daytime hours, when a man was captured on camera entering a home through a ground level door."

The part I dislike about this story is Mrs T going to bed that night and not locking the doors when she had her children with her.

Seems a little off imo - where in Canada can one go to bed at night and not lock their doors? Is she that naive or is this a publicity stunt? Not caring for either scenario.

Guessing that rather than expose a security weakness of some sort, it is preferable to say doors were unlocked.

"Trudeau prowler just in wrong house"

" Ottawa Police sources tell CTV News that Liberal leader Justin Trudeau's home in Rockcliffe Park was not targetted for a break and enter. A police source says the 'person of interest' will likely not be charged with the break and enter. Police have interviewed the individual. He says he was intoxicated and walked into the wrong house.

A source tells CTV News, the "person of interest" is the individual seen in grainy security camera video taken the night of the break-in near to Trudeau's home. Last Friday, Ottawa Police released that grainy nightime YouTube video of a man holding a phone near the Trudeau residence.

A news conference will be held on Tuesday at Ottawa Police Headquarters".

Have not seen the news conference - not sure what is reality here. Unlocked doors with children inside and some drunk neighbor walks in? Having trouble with the story. Jmo.
