When passengers heard 'This is your Captain speaking' on a Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul, they probably expected an announcement of a delay or weather conditions. What they got was this:
' You are witnessing a very important moment, dear passengers, he goes on to say. Before the clouds, the birds and the sky, I want to ask Hazel Çağın Gürleyen, who is traveling with you, to spend every second of our life together: Will you marry me? he said before coming out of the cockpit amid applause.'
There's a video at the link. It's in Turkish, but just keep any eye on Hazel's face, as she very slowly realizes what's happening.
