A homicide investigation is under way in Cudahy after police found a body of a woman who may have been dead for three months... Police are questioning her boyfriend who they said has been in and out of her apartment all summer...

Blake said she hadn't seen the 50-year-old Pamperin since May 18, when police came after Pamperin had a fight with her boyfriend. "They took her away in the ambulance, and we thought that was it, he wouldn't come around anymore but apparently he did," Blake said.

Peggy Pamperin's former co-workers at the Piggly Wiggly said she didn't talk much about her home life or her boyfriend. "She would come in with black eyes. She would wear coverup turtlenecks because he would strangle her," co-worker Kristina Cabot said. Then she stopped coming to work...

Police said they got a tip that the boyfriend may have been using Pamperin's debit card at the Cigarette Depot in St. Francis... WISN 12 News obtained a copy of a search warrant that reports $1,200 in transactions on Pamperin's debit card between July 8 and Aug. 5, when it was declined at a gas station...

Police arrested the boyfriend. He's accused of violating a no-contact order with Pamperin. Court records show three prior convictions after fights with her. The boyfriend could face charges of homicide, hiding a corpse or financial transaction fraud. Police are waiting for toxicology results to determine Pamperin's cause of death and decide on possible criminal charges.

The family of Peggy Pamperin was left with more questions than answers, even after Pamperin's ex-boyfriend was sentenced to five years in prison for hiding her body. Gregory Prey, 41, pleaded guilty to one charge of hiding a corpse...

Prey told detectives that Pamperin, 50, had become seriously ill and died inside the Cudahy apartment sometime during the first week of June. He said he didn't call for help because he was under court order not to contact Pamperin as part of a prior domestic violence case.

The Milwaukee County medical examiner's office was not able to determine the cause or manner of Pamperin's death because her remains were so decomposed, Assistant District Attorney Antoni Apollo said.
