A 28-year-old woman is dead in what police suspect is a domestic violence incident. The victims' ex-boyfriend was arrested in connection with her murder, after reportedly being previously locked up for abusing the woman and then subsequently being released on bond.
Police responded to the 1700 block of E. 33rd, where they found Malorie Ferrell with multiple gunshot wounds. Ferrell was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she later died.
During the investigation, authorities arrested 32-year-old Alberto Medina. Police believe he is the victim's ex-boyfriend.

Malorie Ferrell's friends say she feared for her life in the days before she was gunned down in front of her three children. Her ex-boyfriend, Alberto Medina, has a history of domestic abuse and was arrested in connection with her slaying.
"She was scared to death of him," said Dale Arbogast, who lives next door to Ferrell's East 33rd Street home. "He kept sneaking in the house even when she kicked him out."
After enduring more than a decade of domestic violence, Ferrell thought she booted Medina from her life for good after a vicious August attack, said Linda Shear, Ferrell's neighbor and close friend. Medina crept into Ferrell's bedroom and beat her face with a rubber mallet as she slept, according to court documents in the ongoing case.
