KY - Mark Dunn, 45, found dead in burned truck, Nicholasville, 6 May 2008

Two Nicholasville men were indicted Wednesday on charges related to the 2008 death of Mark Dunn, 45.

David W. Peel, 34, is charged with murder and first-degree robbery. Peel and Odis D. Henson, 46, are both charged with second-degree arson and tampering with evidence in the killing of Dunn, according to a state police news release.

The investigation began on May 6, 2008, when the Jessamine County Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Hunter’s Ferry Road in rural Jessamine County. The fire department located a deceased body in the vehicle and the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted.

The investigation revealed that the deceased was Mark Dunn, 45 years old of Nicholasville, KY. Following the autopsy, it was determined that Mark Dunn died as a result of being shot, prior to his vehicle catching on fire.

Odis D. Henson pleaded guilty May 22 to charges of tampering with physical evidence and second-degree arson related to the death of Mark Dunn more than 7 years ago.

Henson agreed to testify at the trial of any co-defendant and was sentenced to 10 years total...

The guilty plea states, “Dunn had been shot in the face with one of the shotguns. Peel told Henson that he killed Dunn because Dunn had accused Peel of being ‘a rat.’ Peel asked Henson (to) help him dispose of the body.”
