Police just before 8 a.m. Saturday were dispatched to a home in the 2100 block of S.E. 34th Terrace on report of a missing child. The police have contacted about 4,500 people in the area to assist with the search, which was underway by 11:30 a.m., according to Shawnee County dispatch.

The child —S. H. , 8 — was discovered missing about an hour earlier. She was last seen in her house at 11:30 p.m. Friday...

Hix said the neighborhood has rallied around the family, with at least 50 people already joining in on the search and others passing out flyers around the community. “The problem is, there isn’t a lot of direction,” Hix said. “So people are just roaming around the neighborhood.”

So glad to see those words: Found Alive...Wonder if it's a custody issue..

It's been reported that she was assaulted and there has been an arrest. Doesn't sound like a custody issue.

What a brave little girl, I dread to think what those two would have done with her. Thank god they weren't very good at tying her up

Shawnee County District Court Judge Steven Ebberts told Harris she is facing rape, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated child endangerment charges.

A friend of Harris tells us Lindsey was an abusive man and if the 8-year-old girl hadn't been found safely, Lindsey had other plans. "He was going to kill that baby, he was going to kill that little girl," said the friend of Harris.

Ebberts says Lindsey is charged with rape, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated child endangerment and a parole violation.

Before a 24-year-old woman pleaded guilty on Thursday to reduced charges, a Shawnee County prosecutor praised her for testifying against the man who raped an 8-year-old girl three times in 2014 after the child was kidnapped from her southeast Topeka home...

Spradling and defense attorney Mike Warner haven't agreed on whether the two sentences Harris could face should be consecutive or concurrent. Warner said he intended to call witnesses when his client is sentenced on May 23.

Lindsey is scheduled to be sentenced May 6 by Shawnee County Chief Judge Evelyn Wilson.
