AZ - Rocio Estrella, 27, found murdered, Phoenix, 20 Sept 2014

Phoenix police are investigating a homicide after officers found the body of a woman at a vacant home early Saturday morning. A 911 call alerted officers to the scene in the 3700 block of West Taylor at around 2 a.m. While they were en route, police received additional calls of shots fired.

No one answered the door after officers arrived so they entered the backyard to conduct a welfare check. That's when police found a 27-year-old female victim...

During their investigation, police said witnesses saw several people flee the home on foot and on a bike after shots were fired.

After a weeklong manhunt, police tracked two men sought in the shooting of a DPS officer to a seedy flophouse in northwest Phoenix through a combination of tips, electronic surveillance and dogged police work. Ramon Bueno, 39, and Danny Angel Vargas, 26, were arrested at a home near Northern and 43rd avenues...

Authorities say Bueno, known as "Mono" on his now-defunct Facebook page, was a suspect in the Sept. 20 homicide of 27-year-old Rocio Estrella.

No arrests have been made in Estrella's death, but her Silent Witness poster lists a Hispanic male called "Mono" as the case's lead.
