Awkward moment as Alaskan TV presenter quits live on air

An Alaskan TV reporter quit her job live on air - and the language she used led to one of those awkwaard moments for her fellow presenter.

Charlo Greene had just presented a news item about medical marijuana, and then revealed she was the owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club and intended to devote all her time to fighting for the drug's legalization:

'And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but … *advertiser censored** it, I quit.” A stunned colleague then told viewers: “All right we apologise for that … we’ll, we’ll be right back.'

The channel, KTVA, later apologized via twitter and said 'the employee has been terminated'.

The way some people have decided to publically quit their jobs has been pretty spectacular lately, from videos uploaded to YouTube to the woman who resigned during a Super Bowl ad.
But a television reporter in Anchorage, Alaska said farewell with such a bang, she might be fined by the feds.
During KTVA-TV's 10 p.m. broadcast Sunday night, reporter Charlo Greene delivered an on-air shocker at the end of a segment on medical marijuana.

"As for this job, well, not that I have a choice, but f--- it, I quit," Greene said.
Then she looked straight into the camera and shrugged her shoulders before she walked off the set.
Before her dramatic on-air goodbye, Greene admitted that she runs the medical marijuana business she featured in her report
"I, the actual owner of Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska," she told viewers. more at link: http://www.ktvu.com/news/news/national/reporter-could-be-fined-language-after-quitting-li/nhSMT/

Wow...let her actions speak for her. Her parents must be so proud of their little peanut!

I loved the video. She was able to bring attention to mmj so that is a good thing.

Not exactly unbiased reporting, she had a hidden agenda, a platform. Guess she just kissed her journalism career goodbye.

She made a stand, I applaud her for that.

"There comes a time in each and every one of our lives when we must choose to continue to spectate or stand up for what's right," Greene says in her "Why I Quit" video.

According to the television personality, "what's right" is fighting for the repeal of "marijuana prohibition," as she sees it as "advocating for freedom and fairness."
