Scott Maxie, 61, a Cummins retiree, was found dead at about 9:30 p.m. in his Muscatatuck Outdoors shop in North Vernon.
The shop, located at 8485 W. County Road 200S, North Vernon, is just east of the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge. The shop was part of Maxies home.
Maxie had as many as 200 guns in his shop, according to gun dealer John Durham of Johns Gun and Tackle, North Vernon, who knew Maxie. Numerous firearms, both handguns and long guns, are believed to have been stolen from the shop, police said.

Indiana State Police arrested three Indianapolis men Monday night in connection to the murder of a Jennings County gun store owner... Dejaun Worthen, 23; Darion Harris, 20; and Darryl Worthen, 24, were arrested on preliminary charges of murder and robbery...
Darryl Worthen is a contracted FedEx man who just delivered to the gun shop Friday. Then Saturday, he and the other two suspects stopped by the shop together. Other customers came in the shop at the same time Saturday and saw the three men in there.
The prosecutor believes Darryl Worthen was the one who fired one fatal shot into Maxies face. Maxie was armed, but was found dead with his gun holstered.
