OK - OKC girl, 11, shoots man attacking her mother

A horrible domestic dispute between a man and his girlfriend leads to her being stabbed, and him being shot by one of her children. Neighbors say it was an 11-year-old girl who fired the gun.

It all happened just after 4 a.m. Wednesday near SE 89th St. and Bryant at the Burntwood Mobile Home Park. Those who live near the home are very shocked about what happened, but all of them are calling the little girl a hero.

“She saved her mom and her brothers and sisters, she really did,” said Carolyn Marsee, who lives next door to the mobile home where the stabbing and shooting happened.

About 4 a.m. Tuesday, Oklahoma City police were called to a home at 3308 SE 89 and found Brandy Moreno, who said she was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend, Leo Henry.

Police said Henry broke into the house and began to attack Moreno until her daughter, 11, shot Henry twice with a handgun. Henry tried to flee from the home after being shot and was found down the street, police said.

Moreno and Henry were both taken to OU Medical Center in serious condition, EMSA spokeswoman Lara O’Leary said.

“He stabbed her in the eye, neck and the chest,” said neighbor Carolyn Marsee...

According to a protective order, the victim claimed Henry “had been molesting (several kids) in the middle of the night for several years.”

The victim added one week ago she “was afraid he is going to hurt her and the children because she reported the abuse.”

A man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend in the throat and face before being shot by the woman’s 11-year-old daughter has been charged with assault with intent to kill, burglary, and maiming...

Oklahoma City police said Henry was shot in the face, causing damage to his mouth. Moreno likely will lose regular function in her eye and may lose the eye altogether, court documents show. She also had stab marks on her neck, face, and both hands.
