Occupants of the home told police the gunmen were two males wearing masks and dressed in dark colored clothing.

Authorities do not believe there is an immediate threat to the surrounding community.

"Fatal home invasion remains unsolved, 5 years later
It's been almost five years since tragedy forced the Simmons family to move out of their house along a country road near Ephrata. The family left after 23-year-old Brett Simmons was killed and his father, Jim, was shot during a home invasion.

"I walked around wanting vengeance for so long. I'd still take it. I guess I have to settle for justice," Jim Simmons said. Justice has been elusive. Brett Simmons' killers are still on the loose. "It's frustrating. It's aggravating," Jim Simmons said."
