Brian and Susan Trost were thrilled when they purchased their lovely home near a golf club in Weldon Springs, MO, in 2007.
They weren't so happy when thousands of venomous, brown recluse spiders began to positively 'ooze' from the walls and ceilings. Susan even had to dodge one critter that dropped from the showerhead, while she was in it.
They sued the former owners for not disclosing the problem, and were awarded $472,000. Prof. Jamel Sandidge testified he estimated there were between 4,500 - 6,000 spiders in the home; in winter. The inactive period.
This week, the house is 'bagged' and filled with gas that a pest company is sure will exterminate the problem once and for all. It won't help the poor Trosts though. They had to flee the house long ago, the couple they sued declared bankruptcy, and their insurance company didn't pay out either.
