A 37 year old single mother was shot and killed by a 64 year old man in Lompoc, CA on Monday. As of right now, it's not clear how they knew each other, or what the motive was.

Lompoc Woman Names Her Alleged Killer Before Dying

A Lompoc woman was able to name the man who she claimed shot her before she died from her injuries Monday night.

Clay Murray, 64, was arrested after police were called to the 300 block of North Daisy Street.

Rebecca Yap was shot Monday night, at a home in Lompoc.

Fordyce [victim's friend] said Yap told him before she was shot that she and Murray had gone to Orcutt to drop her son off. He said that they had just gotten back to Murray’s house and were going to barbeque.

On the first link from mayqueen, in the video it was said Rebecca Yap was in some sort of relationship with Clay Murray.
In the last link her friend Michael Fordyce says that he and Yap “were going to get a place together and put down some roots, adjust [their] custodies and have [their] kids come live with [them].

So maybe Clay killed Rebecca because she was ending their relationship? She was very involved in her son's life as evident on her Facebook page. Very sad for her loved ones, especially her son.

Thank you for catching that collette, I didn't watch the video attached to the print article. I still haven't heard or read anything further on the nature of their relationship. But I think you could be right.
