GUILTY Thailand - Yoshinori Shimato, 79, found dismembered, Bang Bo, 21 Sept 2014

Thai police want to question a woman about a 79-year-old Japanese man she befriended, Tetsuo Yoshinori, who has been missing since September 21st. Pornchanok Chaiyapa was arrested and charged with theft after using the missing language teacher's card to withdraw cash from his accounts, but then she was freed on bail. Police have no idea where she is at the moment. She says the missing man had coronary problems, she took him to the hospital, brought him home and then he just disappeared. She's currently married to a taxi driver.

They would like to speak to her because they have just discovered she's changed her name a few times, and her previous Japanese husband unfortunately fell down the stairs and died. He had coronary problems too, she says. Luckily, he was insured. His family still aren't happy with his case.

An arrest warrant for assault (not explained in article) and a fraud charge are still outstanding for Pornchanok Chaiyapa.

A 'Black widow' is slowly being revealed in this case. The missing man (who is now being called a different name, Yoshinori Shimato, instead of Tetsuo Yoshinori) Was found last Wednesday, dismembered and stuffed into four sacks that were dumped in a canal in Samut Prakan.

Now the current partner of widow Chaiyapa Pornchanok, has confessed to murdering him, AND her previous husband, in 2003. The one who 'fell down the stairs'. They have both been charged with murder:

'Somchai Kaewbangyang, who has allegedly confessed to colluding with Ms Pornchanok, 47, in last month's murder of teacher Yoshinori Shimato, 79, admitted he killed the woman's previous Japanese partner, Kasitosi Tanaka in 2003.

Mr Somchai, who has two daughters with Ms Pornchanok, said he had successfully disguised Tanaka's death as an accident. The official cause of death is that he had suffered a heart attack after a fall.

The latest confession came just two days after one of Tanaka's daughters, Keiko Matta, 31, lodged a complaint with police seeking to reopen the investigation into her father's death. She never believed it was an accident as Ms Pornchanok and Mr Somchai had claimed'

I am a little confused about whether she was actually ever married tothe Japanese victims or if she is married to her current partner - or if she was actually a bigamist, marrying the victims when she was already married to her current partner. The article doesn't make it clear.

The Criminal Court yesterday sentenced 49-year-old cabbie Somchai Kaewbangyang life in prison and sentenced his former wife Pornchanok Chaiyapa, also 49, to 20 years in jail over the 2014 murder of her 79-year-old Japanese companion.
