By Saturday morning, Richard Stivahtis pounded on his sister's front door, again getting no response. Her van was still gone. This time, he grabbed a tool to get inside to check on her. "I finally used a crowbar to break into the home,'' he said Monday.

He found his sister lying face down on the floor of her mobile home. He said two "very clean'' blankets had been laid on top of her body. A large pool of blood was gathered below her body, he said...

An autopsy determined Deanna Stivahtis died of multiple stab wounds...

Police have identified the suspect in a Canby bank robbery Monday as the man wanted for the Oct. 10 stabbing death of his aunt in Gresham. Canby Police Chief Bret Smith said police have been working together to develop evidence linking 36-year-old Teddy Stivahtis Jr. to both crimes.

On Monday, a man wearing a blue baseball cap entered the Chase Bank branch at the Fred Meyer store, 1401 S.E. First Ave., around 2:25 p.m. The man then approached a teller with a note demanding money, implying that he was armed. Though no weapon was seen, the teller gave money to the man, who left quickly.

Shortly afterward, investigators identified the robber as Teddy Stivahtis Jr., linking him to the murder of Deanna Stivahtis, whose body was discovered in her Gresham home. Teddy Stivahtis Jr. was seen driving his aunt's dark green 1989 Dodge Caravan away from her home, said Lt. Claudio Grandjean, Gresham Police Department spokesman.

Lake Oswego Police on Sunday said Teddy Stivahtis is suspected of robbing a Key Bank branch Saturday morning...

On Wednesday, the FBI offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to Stivahtis's arrest and conviction. The FBI in Portland says Stivahtis has been charged with one federal count of bank robbery. He is accused of robbing a Chase Bank branch at a Fred Meyer store in Canby on Oct. 13. The FBI says Stivahtis should be considered armed and dangerous.
