As her 23-year-old boyfriend texted instructions to her from outside her family home, a 15-year-old girl stabbed her younger brother in the throat multiple times as part of a plan to murder her entire family, authorities charge.

In a plot Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy described as "truly haunting," Roksana Sikorski and her boyfriend, Michael Rivera, planned to kill Sikorski's parents and her two younger siblings so they could run away together.

Roksana Sikorski was charged as an adult today with four counts of conspiracy to commit murder and one count of assault with intent to murder, Worthy said in a news release. The teen is expected to be arraigned Thursday.

"He was using her to do his dirty work. She was under this man's spell," the girl's mother told reporters after the hearing.

The couple said they adopted the girl and her two younger siblings from Poland when she was 4½ years old. They said she had been receiving treatment for depression.

"They came from a very, very, very bad background," defense attorney Leslie Posner told reporters. "They were locked in closets, beaten" by their biological parents in Poland.

At 15 y/o, her motive = running off w BF? Why kill anyone in the family?
Did 23 y/o BF have other motive too? Trying to preclude sex w 15 y/o charges? Lloot & pillage fam home, empty bank a/c? Why kill anyone?

Why not just run off? Why, oh, why?

"....plot to kill her family so that she could run off with a 23-year-old man....
Prosecutors say the girl stabbed her brother in the throat and tried to stab her younger sister. The boy was treated at a hospital. Prosecutors contend that during the attack, ....The couple said they adopted the girl and her two younger siblings from Poland when she was 4½ years old.". bbm sbm

Mail has the grim tale:

Girl, 15, slashed her younger brother's throat and planned to kill
her parents so she could run away with her 23-year-old boyfriend

→ Roksana Sikorski set in motion her 'horrifying plan' on Friday
→ Was encouraged by Michael Rivera, 23, in texts messages beforehand
→ She stabbed her 12-year-old brother and tried to attack her younger sister
→ Escaped with Rivera and both were arrested early on Friday morning
→ They have both been charged and had their bail set at $1 million
→ Parents adopted the girl and her two younger siblings from Poland when she was 4½ years old
→ They said she had been receiving treatment for depression and ADHD

This case is so hard to accept. I can easily see how an adopted child could hate her new parents and want to harm them. Sometimes they do not bond. But her little brother and sister? That astounds me. So heartbreaking for the family.

I see that the girl's adoptive parents are standing by her even after what she did. I agree with the parents that she was greatly influenced by the older guy but she still knew that what she was doing was wrong. Did she really expect to get away with it? And it says she had a sexual relationship with the older guy. She must have been sneaking around for her parents to not know. I think the girl needs to be locked up for a long time in a mental hospital with intensive treatment. I'm glad that everyone in her family survived. What awful memories her siblings will have of this!

A judge has set bond at $1 million for a 15-year-old Michigan girl who prosecutors say stabbed her 12-year-old brother, wounding him, and conspired to kill other family members so she could run away with her 23-year-old boyfriend, reports CBS Detroit.

The suspect appeared in court Thursday, where she was arraigned and charged as an adult with one count of assault with intent to murder and four counts of conspiracy to commit murder in last Friday's attack. Dressed in burgundy jail garb, she looked down and softly cried throughout the entire proceeding...

The girl's attorney, Leslie Posner, told the judge the girl suffers from reactive attachment disorder, or RAD, a rare but serious condition that occurs in children who have been neglected and are unable to form a healthy emotional attachment with their primary caregivers, usually their mother, before age five.

I think the abuse these kids suffered before their adoption has left lasting results, especially this teen girl who was 4 when removed. Not saying that it's any excuse, but I can see her being easily manipulated, especially when she feels loved by this older guy :(

Roksana Sikorski, 15, has been charged as an adult for the Oct. 17 knife attack. Her adoptive parents say that she has a mental illness and was manipulated into violence against the family by her 23-year-old boyfriend, Michael Rivera.

On Friday, in a brief court hearing in Plymouth, Michigan, a judge ordered competency exams for both Roksana and Rivera before they return to court on Dec. 12...

The Sikorskis, who adopted Roksana and her two siblings from an abusive family in Poland, had filed a statutory rape complaint against Rivera, and Posner has said Rivera convinced her to murder her family because of the rape charge.

Roksana Sikorski is 15 years old and is charged as an adult with attempted murder. She is accused of plotting to murder her entire family inside their Plymouth Township home. In an exclusive interview with the Local 4 Defenders, her mother and father plead for the public to convince prosecutors she should be charged as a juvenile...

Rivera was not 18. He was 23 and he was allegedly having sex with their 15-year-old daughter Roksana... The parents called the Plymouth Township police and filed a report. They had a rape kit test conducted at the hospital, but an arrest never came.

"We followed the procedures. We thought this Rivera guy was going to be arrested in the near future and he never was," said Jeff. "We never got any concrete answers on why he was never arrested other than some finger-pointing."

The 11-year-old girl awoke during the night last October in her family's Plymouth Township home to find a knife pressed to her throat. She recognized the face staring down at her. It was her 15-year-old sister. "She said, 'I love you,' and she kissed me and then she left," the 11-year-old testified in court Thursday...

The chilling testimony came Thursday during a preliminary hearing for Sikorski and her alleged accomplice, Michael A. Rivera. The pair were ordered to stand trial on seven felony counts each, including attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder...

Roksana, who is being charged as an adult, and Rivera of Detroit are being held without bond and are scheduled to be arraigned in Wayne County Circuit Court on Feb. 12.

July 2015:

A Plymouth Township teen charged with plotting to kill her family with a fillet knife will now be tried separately from her 23-year-old ex-boyfriend, who is also accused of raping her.

Jury selection is scheduled to being in Wayne County Circuit Court for Michael Rivera, 23, in connection with the alleged murder plot last fall. His co-defendant, Roksana Sikorski, 16, will be tried at a later time.

August 2015:

Wayne County assistant prosecuting attorney Jennifer Tink had asked Judge James Callahan to sentence Rivera to at least 18 3/4 years in prison. But Callahan cited a law that said the sentence for conspiring to commit murder must be the same as if the act had been committed, so he sentenced Rivera to life in prison without parole.
A jury convicted Rivera on July 23 on all charges, including four counts of conspiracy, one count of attempted murder, one count of using a computer to commit a crime and felonious assault with a dangerous weapon.
