Two-year-old Bryson Redd was taken from this home to Baptist Hospital... going into cardiac arrest. Police say 2nd and 3rd degree burns covered 41% of his body.

Police say parents Christopher Redd and Jennifer Perry told them the little boy spilled boiling water on himself two weeks ago, but didn't take him to a doctor then because he acted normal -- up until three days before he died.

According to statements Perry reportedly gave police investigators, she and Redd did not take the child to the hospital because they previously had been investigated by the Department of Children and Families and did not know what to tell hospital staff about Bryson's burns...

The couple reportedly tried to treat the toddler's injuries at home using over-the-counter medication and an ointment Perry was prescribed for a prior burn on her finger, the report said.

Perry allegedly told investigators that Bryson behaved normally until about three days before his death. Around that point, the child became lethargic and lost his appetite, She said.

Two Pensacola parents who failed to seek treatment for their severely burned toddler have been charged with murder and are facing the death penalty, according to the State Attorney's Office.

Christopher Redd, 39, and Jennifer Gail Perry, 29, both were charged with first-degree felony murder in the death of their 2-year-old son, Bryson.

My heart hurts for this little one. I've had 2nd and 3rd degree burns and I can't describe how painful it was. :-/

RIP Bryson.

Poor child! And to think the parents had a previous investigation by OCS.

Poor little guy. I am glad the parents have been charged.

How did he manage to spill boiling water over himself? did the parents do that?
