Gills body was found Monday afternoon and was identified by her tattoos and fingerprints at the state crime lab.
Officials did not say where Gill was found because they are still investigating where she was killed and are looking at multiple sites, according to Amite County Coroner William Sharp.

We're told by family that police were led to Brittany Gill's body, possibly by the man she was dating.
At this point, police aren't releasing who they have in custody. However, they do tell us that Gill's body was dumped miles from where she died.

On her way to the sheriff's office, Gill's mother obtained a phone number she thought was for the boyfriend but ended up being his mother and called her. "The boy's mama said there had been an accident and they needed to go to the sheriff's department," said Montgomery.
Gill's mother contacted the sheriff's department inquiring about a possible accident, but they had no report of any accident when they got there. Shortly after they arrived at the headquarters, the boyfriend and his parents arrived as well.
The boyfriend, who is not yet listed by the Amite County Jail as being in custody, told police that Gill had accidentally been killed at an oil well site. Her boyfriend then took the authorities to several other oil well sites.
