GUILTY OK - Jacob Crockett, 19, nearly decapitated, Stillwater, 29 Oct 2014

Police said Jacob Crockett was killed Thursday at his home in Stillwater. Crockett was a 19-year-old Stillwater resident.

Authorities arrested Isaiah Marin, 21, of Stillwater in connection with the murder. Authorities said Marin and Crockett were acquaintances.

Stillwater police described the weapon in the murder as a large knife. Authorities said Crockett's head was almost completely severed in the murder.

Police said Marin told investigators that he had fantasized about committing multiple homicides and that Crockett was one of his intended victims.

A witness said she saw the murder suspect walk through the car dealership parking lot. She says he was covered in blood, and was carrying a large machete. Police won't confirm any of that.

The witness told News 9 she overheard the suspect talking on his cell phone. She said she heard him say “I just chopped somebody up.” The witness said at first she thought the bloody suspect was wearing some sort of Halloween costume.

Crockett is the son of an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper, police said. Marin and Crockett were one-time classmates at Stillwater High School, the school’s principal said.

Samuel Marin said he and Isaiah Marin were playing a card game in the room when “Isaiah picked up a large black sword and removed it from a sheath... and began swinging the sword around,” the officer reported... Samuel Marin said he then heard the noise of someone getting stabbed and looked up “and saw Jacob stand up and blood gushing from his chest,” the detective reported.

Court documents say Isaiah Isaiah Marin was playing cards with his brother in a west Stillwater apartment Wednesday afternoon. Police say 19-year-old Jacob Crockett was watching the card game, when Marin pulled the sword from its sheath.

The murder charge comes 16 years after Marin's own father was found stabbed to death at their home in San Antonio. Marin's mother and her lover were later sentenced to prison for orchestrating and carrying out the slaying...

Samuel Marin told police the Crockett brothers had religious arguments with his brother in the past because they were known for “practicing witchcraft”...

“Isaiah had been watching YouTube videos related to his Christian beliefs and the Book of Matthew,” the affidavit said.

Three minutes into the call, Marin told the operator he wasn’t going to do anything stupid.

After the operator asked what Marin was wearing, he yelled back, “I’m the guy with the phone!”

Marin sounded frantic throughout the call and was mostly unresponsive.

Toward the end of the call, Marin can be heard yelling, “I got to keep moving! I got to keep moving!” to police.

The medical examiner has ruled on a cause and manner of death in the slaying of a 19-year-old Stillwater resident.

According to the Medical Examiner's Office, Jacob Crockett's cause of death was a "subtotal decapitation due to multiple sharp force injuries" and the manner of death is homicide. The full autopsy report is not yet available.
