Jose Gabriel King fired several shots from a large caliber handgun into his 19-year-old roommate and her friend late Wednesday night, killing them both at their Denver apartment over an argument he told police he does not remember, according to court records.
King, 22, fled the scene wearing only brown sweatpants before realizing he had left his car keys behind, returning to the apartment and stepping over his lifeless victims before speeding off into the night, records released Friday say.
The Denver coroner on Friday identified the two women killed at the apartment complex off Parker Road as Amanda J. Anders, 19, and Nancy Worrell, 22. Anders was a community college student while Worrell was studying at a Denver culinary school, according to their Facebook pages.

King's father called Castle Rock police about 40 minutes later and said his son had just visited him in Castle Rock. He said his son apologized for something that he had done and said he came to say goodbye. The man asked police to check on his son, because he thought his son was suicidal...
"Jose King informed Officer Stembel that he did 'a bad thing tonight' and then proceeded to advise Officer Stembel to arrest him and take him to jail," the probable cause statement said...
Anders said Amanda had roomed with King for about a year. He said they were just roommates. The victim's father added that King recently quit his job as a security guard. "At least, I think he quit," he said.
