A Bowie man, a front-seat passenger in a pickup being driven by an employee, is accused of shooting the employee in the head Friday evening while the truck was moving and then climbing into the drivers seat and sitting on the wounded man as he drove home.
Scott Allen Cambre, 28, then set the body of Wesley Dean Brooks on fire, Bowie police reported. Cambre was in the Montague County Jail on Monday night with bail set at $1 million. He faces a murder charge.
Brooks worked for Cambre and Cambres father in a remodeling business, a witness told police.

According to an arrest affidavit, a witness was riding in the back seat of Cambre's black Dodge pickup on the way to a construction work site in Bowie... While going northbound on Jefferson Street, the witness says Cambre raised his right hand and shot the driver on the right side of his head...
The witness says Cambre drove down the alley behind Brookshire's and the witness says he was able to get out of the pickup...
On Saturday, officers keeping Cambre's home under surveillance saw smoke from the rear of the property. "At the residence, which is on Jerry Walker Road, there was a fire," Greene says. "We had information that there may be evidence at that location, so a search warrant was obtained for that location and a body was located."
