GUILTY OK - Destiny Poplawski, 27, shot to death, Tulsa, 6 Nov 2014

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says the death of a woman whose body was found lying next to a car in west Tulsa is a homicide. The sheriff's office identified the woman as Destiny Poplawski, 27.

Tulsa Police originally got the call at about 4 a.m. Thursday of a body lying on the ground in the 3900 block of West 57th Street South. A short time later, a second caller told the sheriff's office a woman's body was lying next to a white car just off the road at about the same location.

Deputies say identify the person of interest as 16-year-old Steven Ramey. The sheriff's office says Ramey maybe driving a red 2000 Chevy Tahoe with Oklahoma tag 039JQG or a pink 2000 Chevy Tahoe with large after market wheels and tires.

The sheriff's office wants to question Ramey about the death of Destiny Poplawski...

The sheriff's office says Ramey doesn't have a permanent address and may be staying in Tulsa's Town West area. They say he may also be hanging out with members of the Indian Brotherhood gang. Ramey is 5' 11", 140 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He also has a unique tattoo on his left forearm.

Now, deputies believe Ramey is traveling with a women named Bre Tecumseh. They said she is believed to be around 19 or 20.

A release said Ramey is driving a grayish-blue 2008-2010 Nissan Maxima or Ultima with a Texas license plate. They said they two may be "hotel hopping" in the Tulsa or Sapulpa area.

Four people were in custody Thursday in connection with the slaying of a woman in west Tulsa two weeks ago, with investigators saying they likely had fled to Texas through the use of safe houses.

Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Shannon Clark announced in a news release that Steven Ramey, 16, and Brenna Tecumseh, 19, had been arrested in Sapulpa in the Nov. 6 death of Destiny Poplawski, 27.

Two others, identified as Shantell Crawford and Fred Wesley, are in custody in Texas City, Texas, awaiting extradition to Tulsa, Clark said.

Steven Ramey, 19, was sentenced Thursday to 27 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the Nov. 6, 2014, death of 27-year-old Destiny Poplawski. He had been scheduled for jury trial on Monday.

Kristie Beaver, who identified herself as Kristie Crawford in recent records, last week pleaded guilty to one count of being an accessory after the fact to attempted robbery and received an 18-month sentencing deferral.

The state dropped all charges against Brenna Tecumseh and reinstated her ability to have contact with Ramey, according to records.

Fred Wesley pleaded guilty to an accessory count earlier this year and is serving a 13-year prison sentence.
