Fresh bid to crack cold case murder of yoga instructor
rbbm.
"It was just after midnight and Lesley Patricia Larkin’s front door was wide open.

Her neighbour, Michael John Welsh, didn’t notice anything unusual at first.

There were no signs of a struggle as he entered the Noosa Heads, Queensland unit to return Ms Larkin's dog, Riff-Raff.

But in the bedroom was a horrific scene he will likely never forget.

There lay 31-year-old Ms Larkin - naked, bludgeoned, brutally injured - fighting for life in a pool of her own blood.

The semi-conscious yoga instructor was rushed to Royal Brisbane Hospital after the November 9, 1984 attack, but died the next day.

She was not sexually assaulted and nothing was stolen. "
"Homicide and Sunshine Coast detectives today announced they re-opened the homicide case in January this year after receiving “distressing” secrets about Ms Larkin’s life.

The information provided to us is that Ms Larkin had experienced some distressing incidents in the weeks prior to her death. We believe Ms Larkin confided in the people closest to her about these incidents,” Detective Inspector Dave Drinnen of Sunshine Coast District said in a statement.

Inspector Drinnen later told a press conference that Ms Larkin had moved into her unit about two to three weeks before her grisly death."
"A $250,000 reward remains on offer for any information leading to Ms Larkin’s killer."

Almost 35 years after the murder of her daughter a Queensland mother has made a passionate plea to her child's killer to finally hand themselves in.
"She was a lovely person, it is very hard to imagine how Lesley could have been murdered," Lesley's mother Pat Lleiss told A Current Affair.
"She was very bubbly and very creative, a very bubbly little person."
