Alabama's oldest practicing lawyer, Alice Finch Lee, has died aged 103 in Monroeville. She is also the sister of Harper Lee, author of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'.

There is more information about Miss Alice in the old article below. I haven't seen any obituaries yet.

'Though her sister Harper famously stopped granting interviews in 1964, Alice Finch Lee still talks to the public from time to time, and at 100 years old, is the oldest practicing lawyer in Alabama.

Her latest interview aired last night on PBS in a documentary about her famous sister, Harper, and her only novel – To Kill A Mockingbird.
Miss Alice, as she is called, is 15 years older than Harper, and still lives in Monroeville, Alabama – along with her law practice, she sporadically updates the public about her sister.'

Lots of information about Miss Alice here, when she was honored by the women's section of the Alabama Bar Association. An amazing woman.

'Miss Alice’s commitment to justice did not stop at the annual conference level. She bravely took the same position in her home church. During the turbulent civil rights era, Miss Alice left a standing order with the ushers at First United Methodist Church in Monroeville, Alabama: Any African-American who chose to worship at the church was to be seated by her. Miss Alice was determined that her church be welcoming to all God’s children, no matter what tension waited outside the sanctuary doors.'
