State Medical Examiner William Massello said in his autopsy that Jensen's son died from chronic starvation due to untreated juvenile appetite disorder. He listed the manner of death as homicide...

Forbes testified that both windows in the bedroom were covered in black plastic and were boarded up with plywood. She said the room was filled with trash, that the room smelled of feces and urine, and that food was splattered across the walls.

Court documents show Jensen had homeschooled her children since 2009. Forbes said investigators found few educational materials in the home; everything they found fit in one paper grocery bag full of books...

Jensen told investigators her son had a hormonal growth problem and that his pituitary gland did not function properly. She said her son would eat and then throw up. Forbes said medical records show he had not seen a doctor for several years.

She also has been charged with neglect for allegedly failing to provide proper care for her two other children — a 14-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter, both of whom are the biological children of her husband, Charles Jensen. The court documents describe him as being "separated" from Jessica Jensen and say he moved out of the family home last summer.

Charles Jensen said that since approximately 2005, he "had no say in how the children were raised or treated," according to the documents. He said Jessica Jensen "blew up" whenever he confronted her about Aidan's medical issues...

A nurse practitioner at Trinity Kenmare Community Hospital reported that the child looked to be 2 or 3 years old, the documents say.

Trial for a Kenmare woman accused of starving her teenage son to death likely won’t happen until next spring, at the earliest.

Officials are still awaiting the results of a mental health evaluation that Jessica Jensen, 36, underwent at the State Hospital in Jamestown in October.

hmmm I found this odd...

/quote The nurse practitioner who declared the boy dead at the Kenmare Community Hospital said he appeared to be only 2 or 3 years old. /unquote

doesn't that make you wonder if this poor boy had health issues above and beyond starvation? the bones of a 13 yr old would weigh more than 21 pounds, dontcha think?

(not defending anyone here. he should have had medical treatment long before it got to this point)

why didn't her estranged husband and dad of the other two children blow the whistle on her???

''her husband, Charles Jensen. The court documents describe him as being "separated" from Jessica Jensen and say he moved out of the family home last summer.

Charles Jensen said that since approximately 2005, he "had no say in how the children were raised or treated," according to the documents. He said Jessica Jensen "blew up" whenever he confronted her about Aidan's medical issues. A published phone number could not be found for Charles Jensen."

poor kid

"Jessica Jensen had Aidan with a man who is now deceased, court documents state."
