Two women dead in east Tulsa shooting ..(Tulsa World)

Two women were shot to death early Wednesday outside an east Tulsa apartment, according to police.
---
Police have not released identities or ages of the women, and do not have a description of any possible suspect, Tulsa police spokesman Jill Roberson said. She did note police had been told the victims were possibly seen with two men last night, but officers do not have an identity of those two men.

According to TPD Sgt. Dave Walker, the victims were Amanda Douglas, 26, and Jennifer Sanders, 37. Walker said the investigation has yet to reveal which woman was the intended target or if they both were targeted.

Douglas and Sanders were found shot outside the Bristol Park Apartments near 44th and Garnett about 9:30 a.m. When police arrived, they discovered the back window of a car shattered and one of the women in the driver's side of a vehicle. The other was on the ground.

Investigators say Sudar (Sanders) rented an apartment in the Bristol Apartment complex where the murders happened and Douglas had recently been staying with her.

A suspicious car was seen leaving the complex but the shooter remains on the loose. Police say that vehicle is a gold 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix with an Oklahoma license plate 231GDS. That vehicle was reported stolen November 25, 2014 and has not been found...

Sgt Walker of the Tulsa Police Department says they are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the apartments during the time of the shooting, as well as interviewing several witnesses. Walker says they found video of a vehicle which left the area just after the shooting.

Interesting to note, Kelley Harris' car was found abandoned at the same apartment complex after she disappeared two years ago:

Tulsa police have recovered the stolen Pontiac Grand Prix they say was involved in the November 26 double homicide...

Witnesses saw the car enter the complex and leave after the shootings. The car is being processed for evidence, but police are certain the car is connected to the homicides.

Police think the tipster who called in about the car still has more information and they would like for that person to re-connect with police.

A fugitive warrants team doing surveillance swooped in Wednesday and arrested a 25-year-old man suspected in a November double homicide as soon as the warrant for his arrest was issued. Quantell Jamar Alverson of Tulsa was booked into the Tulsa Jail at 2:17 p.m. on two charges of first-degree murder...

"The investigation is ongoing, and we are expecting more interviews and investigation that could possibly lead to further arrests," homicide Sgt. Dave Walker said in a statement.

Walker said the probe centered on finding the getaway vehicle — a stolen 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. Detectives located the vehicle Dec. 10 at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of South 137th East Avenue.

A man sought by Tulsa Police for possible involvement in the shooting deaths of two women in east Tulsa last year was fatally shot in Kansas, authorities confirmed Wednesday. Sedgwick County, Kansas, sheriff's deputies found the body of Dale Childress, 56, of Tulsa, on Sunday around the 3900 block of East 69th Street North in an unincorporated area of the county...

Childress was named in a search warrant affidavit last month in connection with the deaths of Jennifer Sudar, 37, and Amanda Douglas, 26, at the Bristol Park apartments on Nov. 26 of last year. The affidavit alleges Childress, Quantell Alverson and Douglas' ex-husband and his father, both named Larry Douglas, were at a QuikTrip shortly before authorities found the women dead in front of the complex.

Officers additionally claim Childress helped case Amanda Douglas' apartment the night before she died, the affidavit states.

Amanda Douglas’ father is confident he knows who killed his daughter, and he believes it’s the same man his daughter filed three petitions for protective orders against within the last year.

Larry Oscar Douglas Jr., Amanda’s husband, is an obvious person of interest in the case, police said, but they’ve found no evidence linking him to the crime...

“He has not been cleared by any stretch of the imagination, but he’s not been charged because we haven’t found anything to say he did it,” Sgt. Dave Walker said. He said either way, whether he was or was not involved in the killings, investigators don’t think Larry Douglas was the shooter.

Authorities are looking for a 2001-2005 Buick LeSabre seen in the area prior to the discovery of Childress' body...

Detectives said Childress knew one of the women and was also captured on surveillance video the night before the murders with the man who has since been arrested for killing the women.

Detectives are searching his home, hoping to find evidence about why Childress was in Wichita or something that might shed light on the women who were murdered.

“They’re blaming me for something I didn’t do, you know, and that’s basically it,” Larry Douglas told the Tulsa World in a telephone interview... “Amanda had a drug problem, so lying came with the drug problem,” he said.

Her father said, “If she was (on drugs), it was because he was giving them to her... As long as she stayed away from him she (did) great, but he had something over her.”

A Tulsa homicide detective believes that the estranged husband of one of two women who were gunned down at an apartment complex solicited her murder from a man who was bound over for trial on Wednesday, the detective testified at a preliminary hearing.

Quantell Jamar Alverson, 25, faces two first-degree murder charges in the November deaths of 26-year-old Amanda Marie Douglas and 37-year-old Jennifer Lynn Sudar, who also used the last name Sanders...

“Amanda Douglas’ husband, Larry Oscar Douglas Jr., in my opinion, solicited the murder,” Zenoni told the court. Larry Douglas has not been charged in the case.

Quantell Jamar Alverson, 26, was convicted in the Nov. 26, 2014, deaths of Amanda Drywater-Douglas, 26, and Jennifer Lynn Sudar, 37, District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler said.

A jury trial began Monday. After deliberating for more than four hours Friday, the jury returned with guilty verdicts and recommended two life sentences without parole...

Larry Douglas was not charged in the case. Police cited a lack of evidence linking him to his wife’s death.

Sentencing scheduled for May 2.

I so hope evidence against the person who hired Mr. Alverson can be brought to court one day. Curious as to why Mr. Albertson has not given up the info. Perhaps because it will not change his foreseeable future?? DA's deal with felons every day. Perhaps bargaining for some improved conditions could get him to talk?

This case was featured on "See No Evil" season 7 episode 7 on the ID Channel. It will re-air on May 15th at 1 PM eastern.
