Yea, it seems in times when so many have breached the white house security so easily ,there was definite intent to kill this woman. I have my suspicions but will not voice them.. Wonder where the baby is?

Do you remember Miriam Carey? Her remarkably public death at 34 mesmerized us for a couple of news cycles. Then we moved on pretty quickly.

From the Post piece. I have to admit that after starting the thread that day, I soon lost track of this one altogether.

Except that some of what little we thought we knew hasn’t held up. The part about ramming White House barriers and trying to breach two security perimeters? Not exactly true. how did a supposedly mentally unstable person remain a longtime, reliable and valued employee at two dental practices until the day she was killed? She had a condo and a family and, according to colleagues and relatives, plans for the weekend.

The gunfire — 26 bullets in all — sets the Carey case apart. Shootings by officers on these two forces are rare. White House guards didn’t resort to their weapons in September, when fence-jumper Omar Gonzalez, who had a knife in his pocket, ran far into the executive mansion before being tackled. Carey was unarmed.

We will never know but they had no reason to use the force they did. They could have disabled the car, etc. Do we know what the delusions about BO were?Maybe they weren't delusions?

Carey, who had been diagnosed with postpartum depression and psychosis, told officers who responded to her Stamford, Conn., apartment prior to the Washington incident that President Barack Obama communicated with her and had set up cameras to record her life for national news outlets, police said.

She may have been delusional, but if they thought she was a threat, or even a terrorist, why not investigate first. She also had small kid with her.
