The original 'Star Wars' Darth Vader, 79-year-old actor David Prowse, has announced that he would have loved a part in the new Star Wars movie, but he has dementia that would cause him to forget his lines.

'Talking about his health battle for the first time, the 79-year-old who played Darth Vader alongside Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher in the first three films, said: “Now I would probably forget my lines.

“But it wouldn’t have mattered what it was, I would have loved to have done something in it – even if it was just a cameo.”

Chosen for his 6ft 7in height, David played Lord Vader from 1977 to 1983...His voice was over-dubbed by actor James Earl Jones.'

David says he's taking medication to try and control the dementia, and has recently been able to reprise his role as Britain's 'Green Cross Code man' - a 70's TV character who helped kids learn road safety rules. He's accepted he'll never appear in another Star Wars movie.
