A pickpocket in Highgate, London, UK has been caught on surveillance appearing to hypnotize a store owner in less than 60 seconds, in order to rob him.
The suspect talks to the owner and lightly touches his arm a couple of times, then the owner freezes momentarily as the suspect leisurely rifles his pockets. As he leaves, the store owner quickly comes to his senses and gjves chase, shouting, "Oy, oy, wait a minute!'
He didn't catch him and Metropolitan police would really like to speak to the man, they say.
This really is one of the oddest surveillance footage clips I've ever seen and I can't decide if it's an elaborate hoax or not. The video is at the link. Has to be seen to really appreciate this story.
