Australia's comedian, disability activist Stella Young dies suddenly

ABC's former editor and prominent disability activist, writer and comedian Stella Young has died suddenly, aged 32.

'Ms Young was the former editor of the ABC's disability news and opinion website, Ramp up.

Her family said she passed away on Sunday.

"With great sadness we acknowledge the passing of Stella Young, our much loved and irreplaceable daughter and sister," the family said in a statement.'

There will be a private funeral, followed by a public event in Melbourne. Details are to be announced.

She sure was feisty. She did an amazing job commentating on the para Olympics. Nothing stopped her. She had more energy than the rest of us. So sad that she has gone. She was a wonderful advocate for people with disabilities. Gone too soon. R.I.P.
 
Her writing was feisty too. Barry Bateman just tweeted this artice of hers I'd never seen before, talking about Oscar Pistorius (not in connection with his crime) and disability 'inspiration'.
