It was widely seen as a moment of reconciliation in the nation's history, when Aboriginal sprinter Cathy Freeman lit the flame for the 2000 Olympic games in Sydney, Australia. Wearing a distinctive green and white hooded bodysuit, she then sprinted to an unforgettable victory in the 400m.

But her suit simply vanished from the dressing room afterwards, in a mystery that's lasted 10 years. Until this week, when an anonymous package was mailed to the Melbourne Cricket Club Museum, of all places. It was Freeman's suit.

Athletics Australia is describing the discovery as a 'fantastic result'. Once the suit's authenticated, it will be returned to the sprinter who will decide what to do with the bright symbol of an iconic moment in Australian sporting history.
