One of the reasons why I posted this outside of the obvious, is because according to what I've been able to gather this young lady has been arrested for drug offenses in the past and according to her Facebook page, she stated that she is also pregnant. I hope and pray she's found safe and not putting temptation over the health of a growing baby.

Family Plans Search For Missing Ross County Woman
RICHMOND DALE, Ohio - It's hard enough waiting for any information about their loved one, but family of 20-year-old Shasta Himelrick tell 10TV that police have asked them not to conduct any grass-roots searching. "I just wish they could find her, that we'd know for sure what happened," Shasta's grandmother Shirley Himelrick told 10TV Sunday. The elder Himelrick says her granddaughter dropped by to visit the evening of Christmas Day, to escape noise and bustle at her home just a few doors away in Richmond Dale. "She got a text message, and she said 'I've got to go, Granny,' said 'I'll be back'. But she never came back," Shirley explained. Apart from a possible glimpse caught by a gas station surveillance camera early the morning of December 26, Shasta Himelrick hasn't been seen since.

Police eventually located Shasta Himelrick's vehicle at railroad tracks near the rural intersection of Higby and Three Locks Roads. The car's doors, it's reported, were open, and several of Shasta's belongings, including her cell phone and ATM card, were still inside."And there was a little bit of blood, I think they said," explained Shasta's grandmother, "on the seat and on the back of the headrest."

"Right now, we're getting nowhere," Lockhart said Monday. "Honestly, we are not interested in getting anyone in trouble. We don't care how we get information, but what we want is for someone to come forward and let us know where Shasta is. If you need to create a fake Facebook page and message our Bring Shasta Home page to get us the information, that's fine. We just want to know where she is."

This is a partial of the "red tattoo on right bicep" we've heard in Shasta's physical description. I'm working on trying to find a better (complete) image.

Though the solution may lie elsewhere, hard to escape the life.

Maternal grandmother, Janice Timmons, said her granddaughter is a loving and giving person who has overcome a drug problem after she was released from jail in March. Timmons said that Himelrick is looking forward to becoming a mother.

Court records show that Himelrick was sentenced in November 2013 to 179 days in jail and three years of probation for heroin possession and receiving stolen property, both fifth-degree felonies.

A couple of things to note in this link. The car is a 1993 maroon Lexus belonging to a friend of hers. The car was out of gas with a dead battery. Curious to know if she had bought any gas while at the station or how much gas was in the car to begin with when her friend loaned it to her? Did it run out of gas by itself or did someone leave the car running until it ran out of gas and use up the battery as well? She was last seen at 3:15 am, it's dark at that time. Was the headlight switch found turned on?

Also in the story it mentions four other girls went missing in that area. All went missing this past May, although two were found safe. One was found and determined to have died of a overdose and the last one has yet to be found.

This article mentions finding blood in the car.

"And there was a little bit of blood, I think they said," explained Shasta's grandmother, "on the seat and on the back of the headrest."

I took a quick peek at Ohio's sex offender registry to see if there are any known offenders in the area. There is a small cluster of offenders that live near the gas station she was last seen at.

Still No Sign Of Missing Ross County Pregnant Woman, Search Called Off Overnight
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The search for a Ross County pregnant woman who has not been seen since last Friday was suspended on Monday night due to darkness. Officials planned to resume the search on Tuesday with a specialized team from Licking County. Shasta Himelrick’s friends and family are hoping she turns up soon. Her relatives say that on Christmas Day, Himelrick announced she was expecting a baby. Several hours later, she disappeared. Himelrick’s image was last captured on surveillance cameras at a Chillicothe gas station on Main Street. That was around 3:15 a.m. on Friday.

If she announced on Christmas Day that she was expecting, maybe this points towards a possible motive? Hopefully LE can track down her baby daddy, although it may be difficult if it isn't common knowledge, and without the child's DNA sample to test against.

It's not sounding good though. Blood found in the car? She told her grandma she'd be back - how did she end up at the gas station? And if the car was found with no gas, what did she stop at the gas station for?

Search resumes for missing woman
CHILLICOTHE – Search-and-rescue volunteers from several area departments resumed the search this morning for 20-year-old Shasta Himelrick, utilizing dogs, horses, all-terrain vehicles and boats to widen the probe along the riverbanks and river near Higby Road. "We have expanded the perimeter of the search and have a crew coming from Licking County who are a mounted specialized search-and-rescue team," said Lt. Mike Preston of the Ross County Sheriff's Office.

Himelrick was last seen by her family Christmas night. Footage of Himelrick at the Speedway gas station on East Main Street around 3:15 a.m. Friday was discovered before her vehicle was located abandoned near the area of Higby and Three Locks Road about 7:15 a.m. the same day. The car was out of gas and had a dead battery, according to the sheriff's office.

The three search-and-rescue teams now involved are affiliated with the Ohio Search and Rescue Association and were given instructions by the sheriff's office as to how far to push the boundaries of the search. "We have various areas to search based on things the sheriff has shared with us," said Brian Maier, chief operations officer with Search and Rescue Ohio. "We also have expanded the search based on statistics we have on missing persons." Maier said Himelrick's family is still conducting a non-professional search with a team it has hired that is not affiliated with law enforcement. Sheriff George Lavender said the initial Monday search covered one mile of riverbank in each direction.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - Authorities are searching for a missing pregnant Ohio woman who was last seen early Friday morning and whose car was found abandoned, with no gas and a dead battery, according to CBS affiliate WBNS.

Shasta Himelrick, 20, was last seen on surveillance video walking into a gas station in rural Richmond Dale, roughly 50 miles south of Columbus in Ross County, at around 3:15 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, according to the station.

Sheriff George Lavender says Himelrick was supposed to return home and meet her boyfriend but never did.

Relatives of Himelrick reportedly say the 20-year-old announced on Christmas, several hours before she disappeared, that she was expecting a baby.

Himelrick's vehicle was found abandoned near a bridge along the Scioto River later Friday morning. WBNS reports the doors to the vehicle were open and Himelrick's cellphone and ATM car were found inside.

Shirley Himelrick, the 20-year-old's grandmother, told the station that detectives told her "a little bit of blood" was found in her granddaughter's car.

On Monday, searchers covered a 2-mile section of the riverbank near where Himelrick's car was found. Sheriff Lavender said more of the area would be checked, and the search of the river would continue.

Himelrick is described as 5' 4" tall with blond hair and green eyes. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact authorities at 740-773-1186 or CrimeStoppers at 740-773-TIPS.

Not saying this is the case, but you see a lot of young death wherever drugs like heroin are concerned. Just one possibility.

The car could have been left running, until it ran out of gas and being that the doors were found open, the interior light would have stayed on...until it drained the battery. Was it both front doors left open? Like a panicked stop, jump out of the car and run, someone in the passenger seat opening the door and running after her? ....scary.
