Police found a body in a Logan County home near the 8300 block of Holy Hill Dr. Sunday evening. The man's death was ruled a homicide, according to Logan County deputies. Authorities said residents in a neighborhood near Waterloo and Coltrane reported a missing person around 7 p.m...

Deputies were not able to confirm that the body was the reported missing person, due to the condition of the body, which authorities said indicated homicide. “There was some trauma to the body and with the disfigurement there was not an ability to make an immediate identification,” Logan County Chief Deputy Richard Stephens said. The victim has been identified as James Fox, 65.

Authorities are searching for the victim's vehicle, which they said was missing from the home. It's a white 1999 Cadillac Seville. The Oklahoma license plate is 006LIN.

Investigators are looking to speak with a man in connection with the homicide of a Guthrie man... Stephens said the man seen on surveillance photos “may have been associated with the victim in the days prior to his death.”

The state medical examiner’s office said Fox died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head. The death was ruled a homicide.

A man wanted for questioning by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was spotted in a Walmart Super Center in Hazlehurst, MS.

Investigators now believe he is in the Memphis area. The man is believed to be armed and possibly dangerous.

An unidentified man suspected in an Oklahoma homicide is no longer believed to be in the Missississippi/Tennessee area, but authorities are still asking that anyone who may have run across him contact law enforcement...

On Wednesday, officials said a Cadillac belonging to the victim, James Roland Fox of Edmond, Okla., was found dumped in Mississippi near the Tate/Panola county line just north of Como on Christmas Eve.

According to investigators, the victim met the suspect on Craigslist and let him live in his home.

“We are still not positive of the gentleman's identity,” said MBI Agent Heath Farish. “We know he is using the deceased's identity”...

“We have been trying to follow the money so far, following the debit cards and credit cards,” Agent Farish said. “The trouble we have run into recently is all of the cards have been maxed out.”

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation have announced the arrest of the suspect in the murder of James Fox. 51-year-old Lance Alan Solomon was arrested on Tuesday...

It was not immediately released that Fox’s cell phone and a credit card were also stolen during the crime. The phone and credit card were tracked electronically from Oklahoma to Houston, then later to Mississippi, and then to the Detroit, Michigan area late last week...

On Tuesday, the Michigan State Police, Third District, Fugitive Team located Solomon and safely apprehended him...

According to the links provided here, Solomon would have been in the immediate area of Courtland, MS when Jessica Chamber's was found burned on December 6th. The stolen car was dumped roughly 30 minutes away from her burn scene straight up I-55.

What are the odds a suspected murderer on the run would be so close? I want to believe that LE is on top of this and investigating to see if there is any connection.

OkieGranny, thank you for posting and keeping the case up-to-date. Great job!

Logan County, Oklahoma, homicide suspect arrested in Michigan

Investigators learned that shortly before he died, Fox withdrew a large amount of cash from his bank at a Walmart in Edmond. Fox also told a friend shortly before his death that he had taken a homeless man in but was having trouble getting the man to leave.

Surveillance video from the Walmart on Dec. 2 showed Fox was with a man during the transaction.

Oklahoma murder victim's car found in N. Miss, MBI searching for suspect

For days the car sat on the side of Interstate 55, passed by thousands of motorists, including a woman who asked WMC Action News 5 to conceal her identity.

~Snip~

Road crews typically tag abandoned vehicles. It's unclear why this one sat for almost two weeks, but investigators are glad someone spoke up.

I believe they are incorrect about the date of the murder, but I will have to do more homework on this case.

More info on Lance Solomon:

He wrote a book, later became homeless, and claimed to have money in accounts being frozen in Palm Springs, CA back in 2013.

Getting closer to the date he was murdered:

Friends told investigators they became worried after not hearing from the man since Dec. 3 .

http://kfor.com/2014/12/15/investig...homa-murder-victim-searching-for-missing-car/

On Dec. 2nd, they have James Fox and Lance Solomon on camera at the bank at Walmart in Edmond, OK withdrawing a large amount of money. Now we have his friends saying they had not seen him since Dec. 3rd.

According to a search warrant, Logan County Sheriff's Deputies were first called out to the victim's home Dec. 9, when someone reported that his animals were not being properly cared for.

~Snip~

Five days later, they were called back to the house for reports of a missing person.

http://www.news9.com/story/27698457/investigation-into-logan-county-homicide-continues

This makes it almost impossible to think he was murdered on Dec. 14th as some articles have indicated. By the 9th, his animals were showing signs of neglect and people had not seen him since Dec. 3rd.

Bank surveillance video and a picture sent as part of a Craigslist sex hook-up helped authorities track an Oklahoma murder suspect to Flint, according to court records...

An investigator from the Texas Rangers made contact with the man the phone call was made to. The man told the investigator he received a call from another man he met on Craigslist and the two met in a hotel for sex, according to court records.

Investigators caught a break when the Houston man informed them that his Craigslist companion sent him a photo of himself. Investigators claim the man in the photo was the same person in the bank surveillance footage.

Just looking at this guy gives me the creeps! Let alone his crimes and what he says about himself.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video and saw Fox, wearing the same clothes as those he had on when his body was discovered, and the unknown man together, according to the affidavit.

~Snip~

Court records show investigators soon learned the victim's missing car was discovered on the side of the road in Mississippi.

Investigators searched the car and discovered another Walmart bag and receipt. Court records show authorities pulled Walmart surveillance footage associated with the receipt and discovered the same unknown man.

~Snip~

Oklahoma investigators learned the victim's missing credit card was used in Detroit after the killing to purchase a bus ticket. It was later used at a McDonald's in Flint.

I would be very interested to know what he bought at the Walmart in MS.

Logan County prosecutors charge homicide suspect

Logan County prosecutors filed a first-degree murder charge before a suspect was arrested in Michigan, court records show.

A probable cause arrest warrant affidavit documents the suspect’s journey in Houston, where a male witness told a Texas Ranger they had a sexual encounter at a hotel, in Mississippi, where the victim’s stolen car was found, and in Michigan, where a mug shot was used to place the victim and suspect at an Edmond Walmart.

No conscience. Just took off and first thing he does is go have sex with some random man. This says a lot about Solomon.

How did he get to Michigan from Mississippi? Did he hitchhike?

October 2017:

http://guthrienewspage.com/2017/10/jurors-come-back-with-mistrial-in-murder-case/

After six days of testimony, a Logan County jury could not find innocence or guilt in a first degree murder case on late Tuesday.

Jurors, consisting of eight women and four men, took four hours and 20 minutes in deliberation and determined they were not going to agree on whether or not Lance Alan Solomon committed murder against James Fox...

Solomon will be back in court on Jan. 5 to begin setting a new trial date.
