It remains one of the biggest murder mysteries in Stark County -- a woman shot to death in a police station parking lot.
Now, more than 14 years later, township police say they are tracking new leads and have identified a single suspect in the unsolved homicide of 29-year-old Jill Holzbach.
Police wouldn't release any details, but said Friday that they are re-interviewing witnesses based on new information. Lt. Chris Rudy also confirmed that Holzbach's former husband, Jimmy S. Holzbach, is not the suspect.
``All evidence we have is leading to one person and one person only,'' he said, declining to identify the individual.
Jill Holzbach of Massillon was sitting in a parked car at the Jackson Township Police Department around 10:30 p.m. Feb. 6, 1991, when she was shot in the neck and face with a .38-caliber handgun. She was shot while police and others were inside the station, but they said they never heard gunfire.
Jill Holzbach was the mother of a 4-year-old girl and her husband publicly announced he was a target of the investigation. http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/news/12205675.htm
